Atlanta, Georgia is home of the most amazing small local businesses that generally go unnoticed unless you fall across their instagram or a friend shows you them. When you are in your twenties, filling up your free time with finding a fun spot to drink with your friends becomes second nature and making friends with the local staff of your favorite restaurants and breweries is a hobby. This week our hidden gem of ATL is Grant Park: home to atliens, the Atlanta Zoo and some of the greatest small local businesses that make up our perfect city.
"I love living in Grant Park because you get to be in the city but feel a little more at home. You see families playing in their yards, people walking their dogs, & everyone sitting on their porches. It feels like such a safe and cozy place to be. There’s also so many good hole in the wall places to walk to or try out! I love walking over to the Beacon area or up to Dakota Blue or making my way to Grant Park Market. So many options!" - Grant Park homeowner
This past weekend my family and friends took to Grant Park to celebrate my sister in law’s 30th birthday. Our first stop on the Grant Park tour was Eventide Brewing
The atmosphere was vibrant but not too crowded. There were people there with families as well as what looked like they were on a date. There is a awesome outside seating area as well as a garage vintage inside area as well. They have somewhere between 15 to 20 beers, including their spin off of a Whiteclaw Seltzer. Some nights they have food trucks on site as well as live shows including comedy shows. Overall Eventide Brewing is a place for all!
The next stop we made was to Patria Cocina. The food was outstanding and the environment was even better. They have limited outdoor seating but the entire restaurant was an open feel so it did not feel like you were “stuffed in”. When I went, I had their classic chicken ques because I’m a 12 year old in a 22 year olds body, how
ever it was outstanding. Although others in the group had the Shrimp Fajitas and the Carne Asada both of which looked delicious. Their menu offers amazing dishes as well as even better beverages. Patria Cocina offers a vast selection of beers in the bottle as well as on draft. Fan favorites amongst our group were of course the Dos Equis as well as the Tijuana Michelada.
They have an excellent selection of cocktails, my favorite being their Margarita. All in all, Patria Cocina gets a 10/10 and will be visiting again very soon!
Although there is so many more places we have to explore, we hope you check these two out for yourselves and let us know how you liked them!
